WordPress 2.5: An easy upgrade guide

I previously wrote about the WP 2.5 dashboard demo site but today I found an interesting wordpress blogging tips and tutorials post for self-hosting WordPress bloggers that I would like to share.

The good news is, most hosts provide a fairly easy means of upgrading without having to mess around with FTP, SQL, or any other 3 letter abbreviations.

It would be a GREAT help to go to the upload pictures section and obtain instructions for the “new” way to past pictures in the text of my blog.
I have tried for 2 days (and much of the nights) to put a few pictures into my blog. I have followed the directions and still get NOTHING. I’ve checked out the fourms and it looks as though I am not alone.
HELP! What does one have to do to put images in one’s blog?
Why oh why did you change that process? I am a very unhappy camper here!
Anyone know how to perform placing pictures (images) in one’s blog?

I’m not sure that anyone does have an answer as yet. It seemed prudent to check out whether or not someone with the self-hosted version from wordpress.org has figured this out yet so I did. Apparently not, because this is what I found over and over again … “This topic is not resolved. Tags. images. image. upload. 2.5 …” http://wordpress.org/search/images+2.5?forums=1
EDIT: I checked the wordpress.com forums and found this link to instructions written by a fellow wp.com blogger http://mikecane2008.wordpress.com/2008/04/05/howto-upload-photos-to-wordpress-25/
Then I checked another thread and the instructions didn’t work for a blogger who posted there http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=25657&replies=11#post-185251
